Patrol Support
Surf Lifeguard Patrol Support
If you’re over 14 and able to swim, we’ll train you up to gain your Surf Lifeguard Award. If water based activities isn’t your strong suit then Patrol Support is another option.
We run a couple of training courses each season and these are run over a few days.
Training takes approximately twenty five hours, and covers modules in surf skills, first aid, rescue techniques, and risk management. Some of the skills are taught theoretically, but most are taught in a practical environment.
Patrols and Rostering
Our club use a sports team app called Heja rather than a roster system and allocated patrols. We select what days we are available to patrol. This way, we can work around personal, school and university commitments, the surf sport, education and local event guarding calendars as well. Family members, friends or team mates can patrol together should they choose too.
