Masters
Masters Surf Lifesaving competitions
In Masters Surf Lifesaving competitions, participants usually fall within a specific age bracket, typically starting at 30 or 35 years old and going up in increments (e.g., 40-44, 45-49, and so on). These events allow older individuals to continue participating in the sport they love and showcase their skills and fitness levels.
Masters Surf Lifesaving events can take place at the local, regional, national, and international levels.
They provide an opportunity for experienced surf lifesavers to come together, compete, and demonstrate their abilities in a friendly and supportive environment.
Master Surf Lifesaving is not solely an individual pursuit; it is deeply rooted in teamwork and camaraderie. Competitors collaborate closely with their teammates, relying on effective communication and synchronization to excel in events. Through the shared challenges faced during training and competition, lifelong bonds are forged, and a sense of belonging within the MSL community emerges. The competition becomes a celebration of collective effort, with individuals pushing each other to greater heights.
With competitions on throughout the year culminating in Nationals, joining and competing in Masters is a great way to be active in the SLSNZ community, whilst assisting at the club level and passing on knowledge to up and coming members.
