The 20/21 season is underway! We would like to officially welcome all new and returning team members for the 20/21 season.

We use this group to share information related to training, events, gear and more!
Training
Training schedules are created monthly and provided as a Google sheet. (Members can access it from the private Facebook Group) Members are required to update the sheet to show which training sessions they plan to attend to help with Gear planning.
Nov - Training is spilt between Kiwi & Ocean Beach
Dec Onwards - All training is at Ocean Beach
Clive Pool training is at 6.15 every Wed night at Clive Pools.
Commitment
Team members are required to try and attend a minimum of two planned/coached sessions per week, or ideally, at least three training sessions to build fitness. Any athlete feeling out of their depth during November training sessions are welcome to move across to Transition group to develop their skills before fully committing to Ocean Athletes.
Gear & Safety
Most team members will be allocated a board for the season. In some instances, sharing boards may be required. Team members are responsible for taking great care of ALL equipment.
Members MUST train in a hi-vis club vest at all times. (Over wetsuits in cooler months)
SLS Rules: 1:6 That's 1 Lifeguard for every six children in the water. This means that we need as many parent lifeguards and seniors as possible to assist so all team members get a chance to train on boards in the surf.
